Yamantaka Drubchen with H.E. Garchen Rinpoche in February, 2007

Yamantaka is a very wrathful and powerful manifestation of Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom. “Drubchen” means “great accomplishment” and refers to a retreat in which people come together and do, in this case, Yamantaka practice 24 hours a day. A Yamantaka drubchen is traditionally held near the end of the Tibetan year in order to cleanse all obstacles not only for oneself, but for every being in the world. This cleansing is most easily accomplished at this time of the year and helps to decrease suffering and increase peace.
